En la jornada inicial del main draw del San Luis Open, fue el argentino Juan Ignacio Landeros, quien dio el gran golpe al imponerse a su compatriota Horacio Zeballos, el mismo que le ganó al español Rafael Nadal en el ATP de Viña del Mar.
