En 1988 cuando tuve mi mejor ranking en la ATP había pocos torneos en México. El más importante era el challenger de SLP de 25 mil dólares donde le gane la semifinal a Leo Lavalle y perdí la final contra Peter Doohan.
Cosa que si hubiéramos tenido más torneos en México seguramente hubiera elevado aún más mi ranking ATP que llegó a estar 120 en singles y 40 en dobles ese mismo año.
