Telcel, acredita historia en el Abierto Mexicano desde la primera edición que se llevó a cabo en el Club Alemán en 1993, pero como patrocinador principal festejara su décimo aniversario.

Telcel, a través del departamento de mercadotecnia, encabezado por Marcela Velasco  ha tenido un papel determinante para mostrar el lado bello en las promociones que realiza.
