El rector del deporte en México, Jesús Mena, fue el invitado de honor de la cena de gala que ofreció Armando Vega, primer vicepresidente de la FMT a los protagonistas del Campeonato Nacional de Veteranos con sede en el Club Reforma.

Jesús estuvo muy contento y se dio tiempo para tomarse la foto del recuerdo con muchos tenistas que se le acercaron. A final de cuentas Jesús, quien es amigo de Pancho Maciel fue medallista olímpico.
