En el actual Consejo Directivo de la FMT es Jesús Topete el que conoce más al tenis mexicano. Su gestión como presidente de la FMT ha sido la más importante porque con el apoyo de Gastón Villegas y Raúl Muñoz le dio vida al Abierto Mexicano de Tenis en 1993.

Topete es muy respetado por los miembros del consejo directivo y sus aportaciones tienen mucho peso. Jesús estuvo charlando con el primer vicepresidente Mario Chávez de temas muy importantes.
