El dominicano Víctor Estrella, es el tenista latinoamericano de mayor mérito que logró colarse en el draw del Abierto Mexicano porque lo hizo a los 34 años.

En este momento Estrella es 76 del mundo y por ello tiene el derecho de competir en el Abierto de Australia, hecho que pone en duda la capacidad de respuesta de paises con mayor tradición que República Dominicana.

Víctor, intervino en futures y challengers celebrados en México, así como en los Juegos Panamericanos Guadalajara 2011.
